I'll introduce you Blood diamonds. This
book is one of the series of Cambridge English Readers. Typically, diamonds are
beautiful and precious stone of pure carbon. But, it was different in this book.
Blood diamonds changed into unfortunate something.
In this book, the main character was
Harley Kirkpatrick who was a journalist. And Annie Shepherd was his colleague.
One day, he looked at the front of page of the newspaper. His name and Shepherd’s
were in there. They wrote the article about Blood diamonds. Shepherd said him
to come over to her computer and have a look. Kirkpatrick went over and looked
at a photograph of a man. The man’s name was Erick Van Delft. His name was in a
story from a South African newspaper about blood diamonds. So, they suspected
his involvement in blood diamonds activities. They decided to conduct a careful
investigation.
Then Kirkpatrick went to a café and read
an article. It was about short story, and Van Delft’s name was in it. When he
was in café, he saw Van Delft’s. Soon, He tried to have contact with him. However,
this carelessness was to be his ruin later. What will happen to him…?
